Common questions for the Dentist:
What is calculus (tartar)?
Calculus is hardened plaque that has been left on the tooth for some time and is now firmly attached to the tooth surface. Calculus forms above and below the gum line and can only be removed with special dental instruments.
What is plaque ?
Plaque is a sticky, almost invisible film that forms on the teeth. It is a growing colony of living bacteria, food debris, and saliva. The bacteria produce toxins (poisons) that inflame the gums. This inflammation is the start of periodontal disease!

What is Teeth Whitening ?
Professional teeth whitening is a fast and extremely effective way to make your teeth appear shades whiter. Your teeth are exposed to foods and liquids that cause staining, including: coffee, tea, red wine, berries, etc. Over time staining can occur and although there are many teeth whitening gels that you can buy over the counter, the most effective way to treat these stains is to visit your dentist. Not only will treatment be instant, the results will be much better than store-bought methods.
